Spring Is Here
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Spring is here. The grass is turning green, the trees are starting to bud and the cotton wood pollen is flying. I like spring but I sure don't like all the mud. The mud season I think is finally gone. I don't know about every one else but we sure keep getting teased with the warm weather. One day it is beautiful and warm and the next day it is raining, snowing and freezing. I know one thing I am sure ready for the warm summer months. The snow is starting to melt up high and the rivers are really starting to fill up and flow fast. Which means it is great for white water rafting. The fisherman are already out and trying to catch the trout. The flowers are starting come up and bloom. My son Kyler brought me some beautiful purplish pink flowers the other day that smelled wonderful. So the summer is almost here. The economy is on the bad side but we are going to at least enjoy the warm summer months and our families. I can't wait. I love the summer. I can't wait to do some camping, swimming with the kids and playing at the park.
We have a lot to look forward to this summer. My brother Dusty and his finance Rachel are getting married on July 4th and the wedding plans are coming along great. We have a lot of family and friends coming into town that we have not seen in a long time so it is going to be a fun time. But the wedding is not far away. The year is already a quarter over and the 4th of July will be here before we know it.
BBQ Season
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is BBQ season. Time to pull those grills out if they are put away. I don't know about you but we have already been doing a lot of BBQ's and it has been so wonderful. We did some beef riblets the other day and they turned out so good. We marinated them in a brine and slow cooked them. The hamburger meat is on sale this month so time to start planning those fun get togethers with the friends and family and throw those hamburgers on the grill, play horse shoes and watch the kids run through the sprinklers yelling and having fun.
We have some great beef riblets, short ribs and of course the great steaks to throw on the grill. We also have the kabob meat now for the shish kabobs. Just talking about all this food is making me hungry.

Cattle
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Allan is starting to get the cattle off the winter pastures and putting them on some summer pastures. The pastures are really turning nice and green and looking great. The cattle are looking good to and the nice lush green grass is going to make them full and plump. Which means for some great meat.
May Specials
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This month the ground beef is on special for $3.99 a pound. That is a great deal for ground beef and great for those summer functions. We have some excellent tenderloin filet primals this month. They are running anywhere from 2 to 3 pounds. The filets are wonderful for that family and friend get together. You can marinate them or even just season them any way you like, then throw the whole thing on the grill, then you can slice the primal to the thickness you prefer your steaks. They are on sale for $20.99 a pound. The filets are normally $27.99 a pound which is a wonderful deal for the beginning of a good summer grilling season.

The summer is near and I hope you all enjoy the beauty this year of the warm summer months and all the beautiful flowers and gorgeous scenery out there this year. The economy I am sure is effecting us all in some way but we will get through these times and remember the good things we do have like our beautiful families and the beautiful land we do live in. Every one have a great summer and enjoy those families and friends this year. Grill lots and have a great summer. Thank you all for your support and your business. We really appreciate it.
